A sitemap is a file where you provide information about the pages, videos, and other files on your site, and the relationships between them. Search engines like Google read this file to crawl your site more efficiently. A sitemap tells Google which pages and files you think are important in your site and also provides valuable information about these files. For example, when the page was last updated and any alternate language versions of the page.
What can we do for you?
Website Optimiser will add new URL's that we find to your sitemap every 7 days. If no new pages have been found then no new pages will be added to the sitemap.
The sitemap can be uploaded to a customer's website for indexing, if the sitemap already exists then this is a great way to find out about new pages being created within your company.
Search Engine Submission
This term refers to the act of getting your website listed with search engines. Another term for this is search engine registration. Getting listed does not mean that you will necessarily rank well for particular terms, however. It simply means that the search engine knows your pages exist.
What can we do for you?
Our search engine submission works by adding your website to a protected listing tool that is already indexed by the main search engines, as new URLs are added we encourage the search engines to index the links which often results in significantly faster website indexing. If your website is indexed by a search engine you will also see this below.
These are some statuses you may encounter
Green | Index Completed | No action required |
Amber | Index Pending | We have taken action |
Red | No index | Website is waiting to be crawled |
